What have you been working on lately?

I'm excited to be releasing a 12-inch vinyl EP this spring called Sync Loss. I will be distributing to brick-and-mortar record stores in central IL and surrounding regions first. Digital will follow sometime in the future (but not on Spotify or other platforms that exploit artists' labor). After hoping for many years to have my music on vinyl, I saved my pennies and committed to self-funding this release. I'm looking forward to sharing with other musicians what the process was like for an independent artist to choose a mastering engineer and pressing plant, design a jacket, and distribute and promote on a budget.

Do you have any shows coming up?

I'm hoping to play some shows regionally later this year, but sometimes it can be challenging to find venues interested in my genre -- electro-industrial and experimental electronic -- despite the rock edge I try to bring to my music. There are a few industrial and goth events at clubs around here, but they can't always accommodate live acts. So far, I've gotten more opportunities to perform online in various genre-specific streaming events.

What other bands have you been listening to lately?

A couple recent favorites of mine are the eponymous VA by STRICT TEMPO, organized by an artist in LA named VOX SINISTRA. It's a MASSIVE COMPILATION of darkwave, electro-industrial, and more. Second, INSECTARIUM, who is Joel Hinkle based in Springfield, recently released PIT FIEND, an album of dark ambient on Wisconsin-based BEFALLING SILENCE PRODUCTIONS. Insectarium's music has an incredible depth of atmosphere -- a great one for headphones during dark hours.
